Technical Lead (m/f/d) – Fullstack Developer (React, PHP & MariaDB)

Job Description:

Position: Technical Lead (Part-Time 80%)
Location: Berlin (Remote Work Possible)
Company: aula gGmbH

Objectives of this role:
  • Architect , develop, test, and deploy new features, improvements, and upgrades to the aula software system , ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain, enhance, and refactor the existing code base to improve overall software quality, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate effectively within a distributed team across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of all stages of engineering work, including:
    • Identifying and addressing technical issues.
    • Collaborating with the team to evaluate and select the best solutions.
    • Planning and executing the necessary steps for implementation.
  • Lead the technical direction of the team by actively sharing knowledge, mentoring junior developers and guiding the team through design decisions.
  • Helping to establish and implement best practices in all engineering processes.
  • Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation of new features and services.
  • Continuously improve team workflows and agile practices.
  • Communicate with different stakeholders, including government authorities, school officials and different user groups.
Required skills and qualification:
  • Expericene with Object-Oriented development using PHP 8.2.
  • Restful APIs and database engineering (mariaDB).
  • Front-end web application development skills: React preferred.
  • Preferable experience with React Native and app development.
  • German language skills at least at B2 level.
